Four Missions of the Graduate School of Humanities
We will adapt our educational structure to meet today's needs, aiming to create a new form of humanities that transcends the traditional boundaries of natural sciences and humanities, serves as the foundation for all learning at Osaka University, and contributes to making our global society better.

Develop individuals who can address current issues with determination and succeed internationally
We will establish the philosophical, ethical, historical, cultural, and social foundations required to make the future of our world one that is truly meaningful and productive. To this end, we aim to develop individuals who can address current issues with determination and succeed internationally by leveraging their extensive knowledge in literature, language, history, arts, and area studies, among other fields.

Develop new fields in the humanities
We will develop new fields in the humanities, such as digital humanities that combines the humanities with cutting-edge technology.

Make humanities in the form of liberal arts education accessible and available to students
Working with the Center for Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences and other university organizations, we will make humanities in the form of liberal arts education accessible and available to all Osaka University students to ensure they acquire the essential knowledge needed after graduation.

Make advanced knowledge in the humanities accessible to society in general
We will develop recurrent education programs for various phases and thereby make advanced knowledge in the humanities accessible to society in general.
